The Review:
I bet a lot of people got attracted to this anime due to its (in)famous gore and nudity, but the reality is those are really secondary compared to its great, deep story.
It should be warned that the anime contain some of the most psychological disturbing scenes which can be considered "inhuman", but they are nessecary to shock your mind still so you can feel the sorrow and darkness of the plot.
The character designs were above average and the background art is simply amazing. The background contains high quality use of colors. The characters have their own special characteristics that actually matches their own looks and a hard past, and it was because of that past that their motivation to live on, or be as happy as possible, was so strong. These characters also seemed as if they were destined to be together, as if one way or another they would have ended up meeting.
The episodes were very enjoyable. They made you just want to complete all the episodes on that one day. I really like this anime, but unfortunately it's a bit rushed, especially the last few episodes left quite a lot of loose ends and an slightly confusing open ending. I wished that the series would have continued more and not end like that.
Last but not least is the music. The music is perfect for the anime itself. It has a sad and dark feeling although the end theme is not that good.
