Their lives and fates are guided by strange jewels that contain the spirits and destinies of warriors from the Sangokushi period. One girl, Sonsaku Hakufu, has recently moved to Japan and is apparently destined to unite the schools as her counterpart united seven countries long ago. But, like all heroes, there is a darker side to her fate, and as always there is a constant struggle by those around her to break the chains of their own destinies and make their own lives. ( summary from AniDB)

P.G. :
Better than Ikkitousen / DD? Another season of mindless, braincell killing female kick ass action. ahehe I'll be cheering for Chou'un Shiryuu & Kan'u Unchou. Like in the 1st episode. Fight scenes between Ryofu & Kan'u gave me a blast. But of course…I am just following this show for the story.

Japanese Air Date: 2-July-2008

Summary
Fourth season of the adaptation of Hajime Kanzaka’s novels.

This season’s story takes place at the time when Lina and Gourry start a new journey to look for Gourry’s new sword with the power of magic. It will also include a new character named Pocota who is said to have cast a Dragon Slave using the Sword of Light. Sylpiel and Prince Phil are also reported to appear

PG:

Raguna Blade~!!! I love Slayers, even though I haven’t seen a bunch of it. love what I’ve seen. Now I get Slayers animated by J.C. Staff.

It was one of the first series I actually ever saw besides Sailor Moon. A 90’s franchise in spirit in that it came out at a time when an anime didn’t have to be anything other then wacky and fun to watch in order to enjoy mainstream popularity with just about anybody.

Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~

Website: http://www.sora-mahou.com/
Japanese Air Date: 02-July-2008

Summary
Second season of the adaptation of the manga series written by Norie Yamada and illustrated by Kumichi Yoshizuki, titled Someday’s Dreamers in the official English version. It adapts the recently serialized second spinoff of the original manga, which shares the same title as the anime.

The story is set in present day Tokyo. Much of the setting is based upon real areas, the more obvious ones being the Shibuya Crossing and Tokyo Tower. The main backdrop of the series where they all reside is in Shimokitazawa, roughly 6 minutes west of Shibuya on the Keio Inokashira Line. In Tokyo is the Bureau of Magic, which employs Mage Labour for certain special requests by everyday people. However, the mages must only use their magic with special permission, and any unlicensed use results in a penalty. (Wikipedia)

P.G.

it does look interesting for me. If you like shoujo slice-of-life then there’s probably nothing better, and the studio behind Aria and Sketchbook certainly knows what they are doing in that area.

(from ANN)

P.G.
Damn that guys really studying that strawberry intensely.

Much like how I missed out Junjou Romantica from last season, this one is also pretty much a miss. I don’t mind yaoi unless there are pretty bishies involved.

And last, why the hell there is always a BL anime each season but no Yuri??? WHERE’S MY YURI ANIME?

The first season is a wonderful slice of life series that is not filled with laughs, but has nice references to almost everything about school life.

P.G.
SKY GIRLS! (sings* Ai ni mune kogashita mama de Ikitai kowaretemo just believe in Sukai no hi ga mitai no Ageru yo inochi wo chuuni kissing dive)

It’s like Sky Girls all over again. Loli, Mecha, Sci-Fi, Fantasy. Though I actually hope this series has more action that Sky girls. But Rie Tanaka would be on of the seiyu, a definetly watch.

P.G.
A lttle bit of retro in style. Character designs have a weird appeal But I do have a little interest in watching it. We’ll see how the first episode turns out.

Zero no Tsukaima ~Miyoshi Hime no Rondo~
user posted image

Number of episodes: 13
Website: http://www.zero-tsukaima.com/
Japanese Air Date: 06-July-2008

Summary
Third season of the adaptation of Noboru Yamaguchi’s light novels.

First season introduction- Meet Louise, a budding magician. The students at the Tristein Academy call her “Zero Louise”, due to her current record of zero successes with magic. In fact, her magic tends to go spectacularly wrong. Now, as an important test of her aptitude for magic, she must summon a familiar to be her servant. At this critical moment, she summons up all her magic and wishes for a familiar that is “devoted, beautiful and powerful”, and gets… Hiraga Saito, an ordinary Japanese boy. It’s difficult to say who is more surprised and dismayed, but the rules don’t allow for second attempts. Louise is stuck with her strange familiar, and he with her. (ANN)

P.G.
I have to say how much I hate Louise’s character…she has absolutely no redeeming qualities what-so-ever I’ve found out in the second season.Though this doesn’t mean I’m giving this a miss. I will just be putting my earplugs in whenever she opens her mouth to scream “baka inu!”. But I love Rie Kugumiya, not Louise, and woot~ Mamiko Noto will be the new character for the series.

P.G.
Game adaptation eh? A litle advertisement for a game by SEGA, and just knowing SEGA and how their last one turned out I can’t say I’m very interested. Looks like angsty RPG stuff.

Koihime†Musou

user posted image

Summary

Adaptation of the BaseSon eroge.

Koihime†Musō re-imagines the classic Chinese historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms in action/love comedy form with a nearly all-female cast. The game itself featured upwards of 30 female characters.

P.G.
Woohoo~! Now this one really took my interest. Harem of 30 girls. Just like ikkitousen, its adaptated from Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Only it’s an eroge adaptation and the emphasis seems on Moe fighting rather than busty babe panty shots. This has got me interested if only for the fighting loli factor and if the animation and character design is anywhere near the quality of that promo in the actual series then I think we’re looking at something good.

P.G.
One of the trial series for me, Samurai series, cool. And a person who kills demons just so he can end his own life…I lol. Samurai, blood, violence, weapons, and is all dark and creepy looking… very interesting

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu

Number of episodes: Unknown
Website: http://www.nogizaka-haruka.com/
Japanese Air Date: 10-July-2008

Summary
Adaptation of the light novel series written by Yūsaku Igarashi.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu centers around Ayase Yuko and Nogizaka Haruka. Yuto is seemingly ordinary, but Haruka is attractive, intelligent, and rich, which prompts other students to idolize her and even give her French nicknames like “Nuit Étoile” (The Silver Star of the Night) and “Lumière du Clavier” (The Shining Princess on the Piano). One day, Yuko wanders into the school library in order to return a book and accidently stumbles upon Haruka’s deepest, darkest secret: she is a diehard fan of anime and manga, in other words, a regular otaku. Promising Haruka to keep this a secret, Yuko becomes her advisor and confidente of some sort and hangs out with her more, though earning some viciously envious glares from his fellow schoolmates. (from ANN)

P.G.
Reminds me of Mikuru from "SHnY". This looks as sweet as sugar and I’m inclined to think that it will be full out moe as well. Mamiko Noto FTW.

Guess there'll be many series this season. So, yeah look forward to them. ~thanks, P.G.
