| http://www.japfun2008.blogspot.com/ HARAJUKU on MY Mind… >A Cosplay Competition< Harajuku on My Mind is a cosplay competition that aims to showcase how Filipinos view Japan thru manga and anime. This competition is one of the events of JAPFUN: Eksplorasyon at Selebrasyon ng Wika at Kulturang Hapon, and also serves as the culminating activity of the month-long celebration. Competition Mechanics 1. This competition is open to individuals and groups, ages 15 and up, who are interested in cosplaying. 2. Advanced registration may be done through the Department of Linguistics (Faculty Center 2110) starting JULY 7 from 1pm to 5pm only or thru the website [link]. Registration may also be done on the day of the event, 31 July 2008, from 9am to 2pm ONLY. 3. Upon registration, participants must submit: a) four copies of a full-body picture of the cosplayed character;  four copies of a full-body picture of the participant/s in costume; and c) fully accomplished registration forms.4. On the day of the event, ALL PARTICIPANTS are required to have their 'attendance' checked by 3:00pm. They are also requested to hand-in their CDs of any background music they will use for their introduction. 5. Cosplayers are required to come near the stage at least thirty (30) minutes before the competition proper for final briefing. 6. During the contest proper, cosplayers are required to remain in costume for the whole duration of the event for the Audience Choice Award. There will be a voting station for the audience to choose their most favored cosplayer. 7. Individual cosplayers will be given 1 to 2 minutes to introduce his/her costume or persona (including gimmicks). Group cosplayers will be given five (5) minuets stage time to introduce their group and perform. 8. Costumes and props MUST NOT BE HARMFUL IN ANY WAY. The judges’ decision is final and unappealable. Each category will have a grand prize winner based on the given criteria. There will also be an Audience Choice awardee from each category.
