the future of anime will be in 3D. Experimental prototypes such as Vandread have been successful (mixing hand drawn characters with CGI environment).

but i still like the traditional anime style.. those big eyes is an assets

what Silent was probably referring to is the usage of BOTH hand-drawn and CGI-animated sequences to make an animation production.

CG (computer graphics) doesn't necessarily mean 3D full motion videos as in, say, Advent Children. GONZO Digimation Corporation is a prime mover of the CG-meets-hand-drawn style that they've begun with Vandread and Gatekeepers, including the notorious Afro Samurai.

the future of anime will be in the migration of artwork styles, e.g., from the saucer-sized eyes of characters in the era of Magic Knight Rayearth to more defined, realistic-looking eyes of the new age (no, not Kanon, lol). there will also be probably a huge investment in animation quality (like Kyoto Animation--remember Haruhi?--quality) with the mass utilization of more advanced computer capabilities.

That's just my opinion though.

Anime has been animated by computers for a while now...
It wasn't that obvious. But there are those animated(3-D) animes I've seen around, but I HOPE they won't make everything 3-D.
If they do make them 3-D, I'll just stick with the mangas.

There are still enough people thinking animes are only for kids and don't make sense etc. etc. <<

anime will be anime, it may change in form or theme but it will be anime, its like a fashion that is handed over to the next generation and still expanding. the future is surly bright for anime and anime fans all over the world. anime will never end because it is now a culture, a tradition which is engraved in human history.
